Our life is shaped by our mind;
we become what we think:

Suffering follows an evil thought
as the wheels of a cart
follow the oxen that draws it.
Joy follows a pure thought
like a shadow that never leaves.

Gotama, the Buddha

Meditation trains the mind to be still and present.

A mindfulness meditation practice trains the mind to concentrate by observing the breath as it enters and leaves the nostrils. In this process of observation we also get to witness the ever-changing mind as the thoughts arise and pass. By not reacting to these thoughts we enable the process of purification.

Regular practice improves concentration and increases our inner peace. Gradually past trauma, belief systems and old emotions clear from the deep sub-conscious mind and we find our mind stays more and more in the present moment.
